The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) is one of the largest independent international environmental organizations, uniting around 5 million regular supporters and operating in more than 100 countries worldwide. WWF decided to realize one of its projects.
Earth Hour is one of the brightest environmental campaigns on the planet, aimed at drawing attention to the responsible use of natural resources.

They entrusted us with launching a high-traffic website for two consecutive years.
Tasks
Continuing from the previous part of the article, in 2021, the first version of the site successfully handled a large influx of users and seamlessly accommodated approximately 410,000 visitors during the event.

However, in 2022, we decided to enhance the functionality and completely redesign the portal from scratch.
The work process
After finalizing the Earth Hour functionality with the client, we began creating the project mockup.

The project work was divided into the following stages:
  • Developing a new website
  • Updating old functionality
  • Publishing the site
Implementation
As part of the project, we carried out development from scratch while preserving the main functionalities that were available on the previous version of the site.
Our team utilized the React framework for the frontend, along with Laravel to power its backend.
The new website was designed with optimization and improved performance in mind. We ensured more efficient functioning of the counter and map while maintaining the core functionalities presented on the old site.
Result
In the end, we created a new website that retained the functionality of the previous version while delivering high performance and improved user experience for everyone.
